THE TRUST OF GOD (VII) : Productiveness in Service Delivery

God’s servants should be aware that productiveness and the increase in the harvest including the saved souls comes from God. We work together with God in his ‘vineyard’ as part of a larger production network as He gives us grace. (1 Corinthians 3:4-5).

For instance, one minister may have service anointing to plant, and the other minister’s task may be to water the planting. In relation to the harvest however, neither he that planted, nor he that watered can claim ownership of the increase, for it is “God that giveth the increase”. (1 Corinthians 3:6-9). It is God that offered His son Jesus by Grace as foundation for our redemption. No man can lay another foundation than that laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11).

Thus, servants of God should be mindful that they yield fruits or flock for the kingdom of God, and not unto themselves. They should not boast in their achievements nor should any allow their flock, congregation or followers to boast on their behalf.  Rather, we should have compassion for the flock and “pray [that] the Lord of the harvest, [will] send forth labourers into his harvest”, especially for those which are weak and scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. (Matthew 9:37-38).
