THE TRUST OF GOD (VII) : Productiveness in Service Delivery

God’s chosen should be productive in His service in the sense of delivering to His people the specified task or purpose for which they are chosen.  For instance, Jesus was anointed to proclaim God’s mercy and by His sacrifice to deliver God’s people, from the bondage of sin and reconcile them unto Father God. (John 3:16; Isaiah 61:1-3; 2 Corinthians 5:18-19; Revelation 5:9-10).

He was trustworthy because he delivered the services for God’s people such as by going “about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people”; and cured the lame, the dumb, the blind and casting out devils. (Matthew 9:35; and 9:23-33).

His ultimate service for God’s people was suffering death, and God raise him from the dead, that he might give those who believe everlasting life. (John 3:16; Acts 2:24; 2 Corinthians 4:14; John 11:25-26).

Similarly, Apostle Paul was chosen to preach the gospel of grace to the people of Israel, kings and the gentiles; to turn them from darkness unto light, from Satan unto God. (Act 22:3-15; Act 9:15; 26:1-11 & 15-18). To deliver this service, Paul preached in synagogues that Christ is the Son of God and argued the faith “in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Act 9:20 &29). He took the opportunity at every gathering, including in the market daily and in the court to preach the gospel of Christ, and made himself a “servant unto all” and became “all things to all men” that he might save souls. (Acts 13:14-16; Acts 17:17 and 17:22-33; Acts 26; 1 Corinthians 9:19-22).
