Faithfulness demands that one considers their election to serve God not as by “right” or “might”, but by privilege or GRACE. Both are granted by God and thus His servants must not entertain contention in service but work faithfully unto the Lord. Thus God’s servants should consider that “[they are sent] to reap that whereon [they] bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours”.
Those in the service of God “are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets”, and Jesus Christ himself is “the chief corner stone”. (John 4:37-38; Ephesians 2:20). They should also consider that “he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God”. (1 Corinthians 3:8-9).
