As with any employment where one is given a task, you are also usually provided the tools with which to carry out the task or to prepare and train you for it. Likewise, Father God has ordained for those who undertake services for his purpose, diverse spiritual gifts that could be made available to them in the measure as their trustworthiness is established.
The diverse spiritual gifts for service include: a word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, diverse kinds of tongues; interpretation of tongues, ministering, teaching, exhortation, humble giving, leading with diligence, helps, and governments (1 Corinthians 12:8-11; 28-30; Romans 12:6-8). These service gifts will differ according to the grace that is given to them who are anointed thereto and according to the proportion of their faith (Romans 12:6).
The offices for the ministration of the respective gifts that are commissioned in Christ include apostles; prophets; evangelists; pastors and teachers. And the spiritual gifts are “for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12).
Despite the diversity of the gifts, they all work by “one Spirit and the self-same spirit dividing to everyman severally as he will; and though the operations and administrations of service are diverse, it is the same God which worketh in all (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
