“God is a Spirit” and He created His children Adam and Eve in his “image” and “likeness”. All of God’s children of the world have His Spiritual personality in life. (John 4:24; Genesis 2:7). “He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living…” (Mark 12:27). After their fall however, their Godly (Living) Spirit died and they became sinful, obtained knowledge of evil and were driven from the presence of God under curse of death (Genesis 2:16-17; 3:11 & 22-24). This spiritual death represents the departure of God’s grace upon mankind, a condition that is inherited by all (Psalm 51:5).
Humans became wicked upon the earth “every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually”; they “became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened”. (Genesis 6:5; Romans 1:21). “And the Lord said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh”. Owing to mankind’s indulgence in the “flesh” God, repented that He made man. This rendered all mankind untrustworthy in the eyes of Father God (Genesis 6:3 & 6).
