In spite of Israel’s rejection of God’ as their King, in His infinite mercy, God reserves for His glory in Israel “a child [to be] born” and “a son” that shall carry the government upon his shoulder; “his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). God said unto the Son, “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom ( Psalm 45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8).
Jesus, the son of God was conceived by the HOLY SPIRIT, which is the WORD OF GOD, that was made flesh, in order to reinstate God’s reign over those who would believe; and these would receive the Holy Spirit of God through him (John 1:13 Luke 1:31; Acts 2:38 ;41 & 44).
Note that the symbolism of God’s choice of spiritual King on earth is evidence in the the word of God to Sarah and Abraham of Isaac. His conception was by the word of God – the Holy Spirit and not by their human ability in the flesh.
God is almighty and powerful so he does not need a big thing to fight. His small is great and his weak is strong! So, in order to confound the “enemy and the avenger”, He creates his Spirit (Jesus) in the flesh a little lower than angels and crowns him with glory and honour; and gives him dominion over all of His works and “hast put all things under his feet” except God (Psalm 8:2-6; 1 Corinthians 15:27; Hebrews 1:5-6).
Jesus is God’s King set upon His Holy Hill of Zion, to have dominion over heathens and to possess the uttermost parts of the earth (Psalm 2:7-8). All kings and judges of the earth are instructed to “Serve [him] with fear, and rejoice with trembling” (Psalm 2:10-12). Christ is the “King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest”! (Luke 19:38).
