Access to the true bread of heaven, does not require mankind’s performance to obtain righteousness but trust in the power or will of God.
Unlike the law of Moses which requires the performance of mankind, which is ‘of blood’, ‘of will of the flesh’ or ‘will of man’, access to the bread of life – (salvation) requires us to believe on JESUS whom God has sent, by the WILL or POWER of God – the conviction of His Holy Spirit (John 6:29).
Those who believe in the Power of God as manifested through his work in Jesus death and resurrection are gifted by GRACE to become the children of God, born of the WILL of GOD, as opposed to the ‘will of the flesh’ (Ephesians 2:8-10). The latter signifies a “show of wisdom in will worship” and in neglecting of the body (John 1:13-14; Colossians 2:20-23). The ‘will of the flesh’ accomplishes nothing: It is of this world and of man’s wisdom (1 Corinthians 2: 6-14).
The Spirit of God, which is not of this world sanctifies Gods words to reveal the truth of God to mankind, including the truth of Jesus as the bread of life sent by God, his death and resurrection to grant salvation to those who believe; they shall not perish. (John: 17:17-19). The words of Christ are Spirit and they are life (John: 6. 63).
6. FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Jesus is God’s certified course for a healthy diet that does not lead to death. His words give life through the feeding of the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit which searches the things of God and reveals them to us; and it is our daily unction and sustenance by which we know all things. (1 Corinthians 2:10-13; 1 John 2:20 &27). Let us therefore vigilantly guard the source of our ‘daily bread’ – the power of God in the Holy Spirit.
PRAYER
“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen”. (Matthew 6:9-13)
I make this prayer in Jesus name.
Have a blessed week
