PRECIOUS TRIALS OF FAITH (V): ‘FOR SALVATION AND RELATIONSHIP’

The trial for salvation and relationship is a path to God’s covenant of mercy and reconciliation with his people. Salvation through faith trials is the process by which God demonstrates his goodness to deliver mankind from evil, sin and spiritual death, and by the blood of Jesus Christ to demonstrate God’s righteousness to forgive former sins of Adam and Eve that polluted the world (Romans 3:21-25).  Also, “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation”. (2 Corinthians 5:19).

Salvation is therefore the “gift of God, not of works”. (Ephesians 2:8, 9). To be saved, one must confess with your mouth the Lord JESUS (YESHUA), and should believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead to be saved. (Romans 10:8-10; John 17:8; Deuteronomy 30:14-15). Note that  “no man can say that Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost”; and “neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”   (1 Corinthians 12:3; Acts 4:12).

The outcome of one’s trial for salvation and relationship is therefore a personal realisation and acknowledgement of God as your own, in an endearing relationship as “ishi” (my husband); and not as “Baali” (my master) in idolatry. (Hosea 2:16-17). One is ushered into God’s covenant of grace and deliverance from the power of the enemy Satan unto the power of God obtained by Jesus Christ on your behalf (Matthew 28:18; Hosea 2:18).

Also, the effect is that God will cover your “nakedness” with His cloak and pledge Himself to you in the covenant of love and you will become His (Ezekiel 16:8; Genesis 3:21-22). Through the power in  Christ, “ [God] will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make [you] to lie down safely” as you become “betroth” unto Him for ever in righteousness, in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies” .

He will “even betroth thee unto [Him] in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD. (Hosea 2:18-20). And He “will say to them which were not my people, thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God” (Hosea 2:23).

PRAYER

Almighty God, thank you for your word; and for your faithfulness to thy children

Dear Lord, look upon their trials, as they seek thy face. Consider their tears, and comfort each tormented soul.

Holy father, as they commune with their own heart seeking you diligently in spirit, they are asking: “Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more? Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies?”

Gracious Lord, cause them to trust and hope in thy faithfulness and mercy and heal their “infirmity”.

Make them to remember the years of thy “right hand” in favour, your “works” and thy “wonders” of old, wrought in Jesus Christ, for our salvation.

Great God, “Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people”. Redeem thy people O Lord, and lead them by your Holy Spirit, like a flock unto their desired haven. (adapted from Psalm 77).

I make this prayer in JESUS NAME.

Have a blessed week of peace.

Lots of Love, P. Schwartz (SOG), 24 June 2018.
