PRECIOUS TRIALS OF FAITH (III): DISCIPLESHIP FOR THE GOSPEL

By all accounts in scripture, it is clear and definite that believers will face persecution, tribulations and affliction in the world. So believers, “think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you”. (1 Peter 4:12). “Do not lose heart. Though your outer self may waste away through trials, yet your inner self will be renewed day by day. (2 Corinthians 4:16).

You should take pleasure in all kinds of trials for Christ’s sake: for when you are weakened by the attacks, then you will emerge strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10). But in all you trials, remain courageous for Christ have overcome the world!. (John 16:33). So “be sober, be vigilant” and resit the devil. Let nothing move you, nor count your life dear unto yourself; but focus on finishing the course of your faith to testify the gospel of the grace of God. (1 Peter 5:80; Acts 20:24)

Brethren, remember always that as you share in his suffering, “you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you”. (1 Peter 4:13-14; James 1:12; Matthew 5:11; Luke 6:22; John 15:18). Remain in the hope that you are “persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed”. (2 Corinthians 4:9).

Finally, be assured that because Christ also suffered and was tried in every way (but for sin), and has become our High Priest in heaven, he is able to sympathize with our weaknesses; and  is able to help you endure your own precious “crosses” of faith (Hebrew 2:18; 4:15). Believers who shall endure to the end, shall be saved. (Matthew 24:13).

Next week by grace, we will examine faith trials for the sake of righteousness.

PRAYER

Almighty God, thank you for your word.

We praise your victorious and mighty name.

Dear Lord, I commit the faith of thy children and all fiery darts from the evil one to your Holy throne of GRACE and MERCY, to help in time of need.

Lead them not into temptation and deliver them from evil.

Dear Holy Spirit, comfort and sustain them through all trials unto victory.

We will wait upon the Lord for his great deliverance.

The Joy of the Lord is our strength! We will rejoice the Lord is King!

I make this prayer in JESUS NAME.

Have a blessed week of Peace

Lots of Love, P. Schwartz (SOG), 08 April 2018.
