The ‘general Godly faith’ is an expression of faith that is inherently premised on the fear or reverence of the Almighty God. The faith is usually not deriving from belief in a defined religion, and the means to the God relationship is usually direct and experiential.
In this category would be for example the faith of Noah who built the ark to avoid the great flood and Abraham with whom God established the covenant of circumcision (Genesis Chapter 6-8 and 17:10-13). These faithful men had a direct faith relationship with God through special covenants (Genesis 9:8-17; and chapters 12-17).
