Brethren, “with God is strength and wisdom [and] the deceived and the deceiver are his”. (Job 12:16). God may allow spirits to entice mankind to believe in a lie. So, if people are not disposed to love telling or receiving the truth that they might be saved; but lust after their desires, God can “send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie”. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12; Psalm 81:11,12).
For example, King Ahab of Israel desired to go to battle against Syria and inquired of God’s word. However, he loved prophets who told him what he desired to hear but hated prophets who would tell him the truth. Ahab thus hated Macaiah, Gods true prophet for not prophesying good concerning him, but evil. (1 Kings 22:6-8; see also 1 Kings 18:20-40).
4.1 BEWARE: LUST ATTRACTS LYING SPIRITS
With Ahab’s predisposition to hate the truth, coupled with his desire for the battle and his appetite for false reports, God sent “a spirit” to entice him to go and fall to the battle. The scheme employed by the spirit was to go and “be a lying spirit” in the mouth of all the four hundred s prophets of Ahab. (1 Kings 22:19-22; Ezekiel 14:9).
One of the lying-spirit prophets made for Ahab a lying device – “horns of iron”- to give him power and said to Ahab: “Thus saith the Lord, with these shalt thou push the Syrians until thou have consumed them”. So, Ahab, to his own detriment, refused to believe God’s word by the true prophet -that he would lose the battle and die – because his lust made him perceive it as evil (1 Kings 22:23-38).
Brethren, we should therefore be careful not to be tossed to and fro, like children “and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but we must endeavour to speak the truth in love, that we may grow up in Christ Jesus.( (Ephesians 4:14).

PRAYER
Almighty Father, thank you for your word. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!
Holy Father remember your children, for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. The wicked in his pride doth persecute us.
Deliver not our soul unto the multitude of the wicked: Let them be taken in the schemes and devices that they have imagined against us and let the counsel of the wicked against us not stand.
Gracious Spirit, open our ears to hear thy voice; inspire our hearts to believe thy truth; and let the lying lips be put to silence.
