INTRODUCTION
The previous messages covered faith trials relating to the ministry of Christ, discipleship for the gospel, and the last message dealt with trials for righteousness sake. It established that righteousness trials are solely about reverence, devotion and honour to God; and it is conditioned in one’s “heart” always.
This message continues the series and examines faith trials for salvation and to establish a spiritual relationship with God. It explains the state of mankind’s trials and relationship with God prior to salvation, especially in a state of disobedience, influence of evil and spiritual death.
It describes the concept of Israel’s “whoredom”, the forsaken and the promise of restoration as “sons of God”. It analysis the circumstances of salvation trials including hedging ones way with thorns, the allure and wilderness comfort and the covenant of mercy and reconciliation through Jesus Christ.
