THE TRUST OF GOD ( I) : Trusting The God of Trust

INTRODUCTION

Trust is a key component of a meaningful and fulfilling relationship we may seek to build in our walk with God. The scripture teaches us to put our trust in God and in His word, His faithfulness, and righteousness including in His salvation that is wrought in Jesus the Messiah. Put simply, we should have faith in God.

But what is not always considered is that as God asks us to trust Him, for our needs and desires He also desires that He can trust us to commit them to us. The question then is, does God trust you as much as you trust him? Are you trustworthy for the purposes of God to be fulfilled in you, by you, through you and for you? There needs to be a synergy in our relationship with God wherein in as much as we trust God to deliver on His word or promises, He needs to trust us to be worthy of them and be capable to handle and manage what he may  give to our charge or bestow upon us.

This series on ‘The Trust of God‘ aims to provoke us to inspect ourselves especially our trustworthiness in our relation with God. While God never loses faith in us, He desires that he can trust us with the things he holds for us. The messages in the series will seek to demonstrate that the more God can trust us the more He will open into our hearts and reveal Himself, His secrets, His sacred place and His gifts.

In this first part, we examine the God of Trust. It lays emphasis on the mutuality in trust relationship with God and presents various elements of trusting in the Lord, including trusting at heart and acknowledging Him at all times, waiting on Him, dispelling fear and belief in Christ our salvation. From this premise we may condition our minds to anticipate what God may expect of us when we desire His favour or action.
